We are a K-4 school located on Woodlake Drive in beautiful Homerville, Georgia, and our students come from families across the rural Clinch County community. We’re passionate about providing a stimulating educational environment where our students can thrive, and we are proud to be a Title I Distinguished School for several years running!
Walt Disney once remarked that “many hands and hearts and minds generally contribute to anyone’s notable achievements.” We couldn’t agree more! Our first-rate faculty and staff, involved parents, and supportive community are the hands and hearts and minds that make our school shine and help our students grow.
Hurricane Irma Update
Thank you for your patience as we continue to monitor the path of this unprecedented storm. We expect the initial impact of hurricane Irma to hit Clinch County in the evening or early morning hours on Monday, September 11. Unfortunately, weather experts predict sustained winds potentially impacting our region over a 24 to 28-hour time span – with the greatest potential for tornados between Monday afternoon and Tuesday morning. Our road and power crews will need time on Wednesday to ensure the safe return of staff and students. Therefore, we will close our schools through Wednesday, September 13. If any updates to our schools resuming on Thursday, September 14 are necessary, we will send another phone message to parents by noon on Wednesday, September 13. Please continue to monitor our local social media sites for information regarding areas being prepared for residents who cannot safely shelter in place. We are praying for the best, but preparing for the worst. We appreciate your patience and understanding as we do our best to ensure the safety of our students, staff, and residents.
Congratulations teachers, students, and parents for being named a Title I High Progress Rewards School. You are Clinch County Elementary Superheroes! At Clinch County Elementary school, we are paving the way for our students to become successful learners on track for graduation.
In order to meet the diverse needs of our students, we will implement new programs and increased intervention time, allowing us to provide quality education to all students. We are striving to differentiate academic learning for all students so that each one receives exactly what he/she needs to grow.
At CCES, the academic, emotional, and physical growth of our precious commodities are all equally important. In order to meet the emotional needs of our students, our team has implemented a Positive Behavior Support System. This system helps us to monitor behavioral needs of our students in order to promote healthy learning. Please contact Mrs. Marie White, our counselor, to learn more about our PBIS system.
Parents, you are the key. You are a vital part of our school system. We truly need your support. This year, we are implementing a program that we believe will help you become more involved in our school and in your child’s learning. Mrs. Lori Register, our parent involvement coordinator, leads our Parents at Work in our School (PAWS) program. Through this program, we can train parents how to support their child through volunteering in the school. If you would like to learn more about our PAWS program, please contact Mrs. Register.
As principal of CCES, it is an honor to serve the students, teachers, and parents that make a difference every day at our school. My hopes for our school are to continue the path of progress and enable all students to feel positive about his/her learning experience. I was once a struggling student who needed extra help with reading. It was the commitment of the educators, along with my parents, that helped me overcome my struggles. Today, I stand as a testimony that all students can be successful!
Let’s soar above the heights and make a difference. Together, we can grow the children of Clinch County into successful students ready for the future.
